Nodar kumaritashvili luge crash video (death accident )



A man Nodar Kumaritashvili from the republic of Georgia (former Soviet!) died Friday after a high-speed crash during training for the Winter Games.

An information from The International Olympic Committee said doctors were unable to revive Nodar Kumaritashvili, and he died in a hospital, hours before the Vancouver Olympics' opening ceremonies were to start.

From the source, Kumaritashvili was traveling at speeds of nearly 150km per hour at the time of the crash. Luge accident of Kumaritashvili turned 21 on November. Nodar Kumaritashvili has competed in luge for Georgia since 2008.

Emergency medical technicians tried their best to resuscitate him but it was hopeless. Kumaritashvili died about seven hours before the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics. It was very tragic.

IOC president Jacques Rogge said the death "clearly casts a shadow over these Games."

He lost control of his sled, went over the track wall and struck an unpadded steel pole near the finish line at Whistler Sliding Center.

They are, rescue workers were at Nodar's side within seconds, chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation started less than one minute after the crash, and he was quickly airlifted to a trauma center in Whistler.
